Mermaids with Tail and Pink Flower Indigenous Print Shoulder Bag

A stylish and very limited handmade shoulder bag with a vibrant hand screen print artwork by Aboriginal artist Kieren Karritpul of Merrepen Arts. The fabric was hand screen-printed by Publisher Textiles, and I acquired it from their store in Leichhardt.

Kieren is a very talented young Aboriginal artist, his work is collections such as The National Gallery of Australia, Myer Collection and Artbank.  I love the colours in this print, and it makes a very special yet useable handbag.

The strap is hand-cut leather, with tan brown leather back and  top-stitched detail. Vintage coral silk satin lining with handy inner pocket make from vintage Australiana leather coaster!

Compact, but large enough to keep the essentials in!

Adorned with a quality Riri metal zipper.
